Kent Strobl will be graduating early from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Sports Business Management to begin his career as an NBA agent. From Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan, ever since he was 8-years-old, he has been playing and studying the sport of basketball to the point where it is second nature.

He started his career in sports with journalism after freshman year at MSU. With an internship at The Daily Caller News Foundation in Washington D.C. as the “sports intern”, Kent learned and saw first hand the media side of sports. This gave him a better understanding of how athletes can act and interact with media in a day and age that is constantly covered both online and on-screen.

Kent later decided that his true passion is helping others find, and do, what is best for them. He has always been a person that values others and their well-being, often putting others before him. Combine that with his history with basketball and that has brought him to becoming a sports agent.

In becoming an agent, Kent interned with SMWW and learned the art of athlete representation (contract negotiation, endorsements, marketing, integrity) from NFL agent Dr. Lynn Lashbrook and former NBA and NFL agent Joel Corry. Kent, also, learned from NBA Executive Mark Warkentien and basketball scout Carl Berman, developing his eye for talent and understanding what teams look for in players. Despite being young, he obtained years worth of knowledge, comfortability, and confidence from a team of very experienced individuals

Kents biggest hobby is working out and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, so much so that it has become a lifestyle. Every morning he gets up at 5 a.m. to go to the gym with the mindset of “being better than yesterday” and believing he is the hardest worker in the room. In a life where he always thinks about those he cares about, this is the time he devotes to himself with no interruptions. Outside of the gym, he gives everything else he does the same devotion, attention, and effort.

Kent has the drive to be the biggest NBA agent in the industry. With his knowledge of basketball and sports media, combined with his determination, motivation, and selfless nature, he is looking forward to his time as an Agent Advisor with SMWW as well as his future.
