James Kitia

James Kitia grew up in a small town in Moshi, Kilimanjaro Tanzania. The only sport he played while living in Africa is football (soccer). James moved to America 17 years ago, where he lives with his wife and two sons ages 13 and 15.

 

James currently holds the position of Director of Soccer Operations for the Edgewater Castle Football Club based in Chicago while volunteering for other coaching positions for 5-14-year-olds. James has volunteered for 10 years for the elected position of a parent representative on the local school council for his son’s school while homeschooling his elder son for his 7th and 8th grade school years.

 

James served as the president of the Tanzanian Community Association for 6 years in Chicago and is still an active member.

He founded the Mkombozi Soccer League in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania in 2008, which has grown to have 16 teams and over 400 players. Following the Mkombozi Cup, James has assisted players in getting scouted for their U17 National teams and professional African football clubs and has assisted others in achieving admission into soccer academies throughout Africa.

 

James is also the creator of a wooden toy called the “ My Africa Toys Puzzle Truck” modeled after street toys he played within Tanzania. Some proceeds from this truck support James’ dream to build a year-round soccer stadium near his hometown in Kilimanjaro.

 

James advocates for youth around the world who are working hard to utilize their talents in sports and achieve their goals. James is preparing and learning to be their advocate, mentor, and representative as a soccer agent and is striving to become an ambassador for other African soccer agents around the world.
