MYKEL BENSON SCOUTING REPORT
Mykel Benson is a 6-foot-1, 250-pound fullback who played for the San Antonio Talons of the Arena Football League during the 2014 campaign.
Benson broke enough tackles to lead San Antonio in rushing with 361 yards and 15 touchdowns on 107 carries.
His bruising, bulldozing, bowling ball running style helped the Talons successfully convert 74 percent of their trips in the opponents' red zones into scores.
He initiates and creates contact and punishes would-be tacklers who try to take him down.
Out of the backfield, Benson exhibited nice, soft hands, while gaining good yardage after the catch (11.2 average) on 13 receptions for San Antonio last season.
He has a knack for pounding the pigskin inside the hash marks as well as showing his speed on sweeps to the outside.
When called upon to provide pass protection for the Talons, Benson proved to be a beast of a blocker, pancaking the opposition for the man calling the signals behind center.
Benson is a former Florida A & M Rattler.
