College: Curtis started his college career at University of Minnesota before transferring to Texas Southern Curtis Thomas played 3 years at Texas Southern where he was named 2 time All SWAC 1st team. He was also named 2 time HBCU All American. Thomas tallied 151 tackles in his College career. He also recorded 10 INT for 179yds and 3 TDS to go with 16 PBU 11 PD. Thomas also had 13 TFL and 5 sacks for a total loss of 148yds he had 3 FF and 2 FR and blocked a FG.

2010: Thomas named All SWAC for the 2nd straight season. His Sr. season was very productive with 44 tackles, INT 4-78 1TD ( ranked 4th in SWAC) TFL 4-48yds 1FF and 1FR. Curtis Thomas returned an interception 59 yards for a touchdown as Texas Southern scored two touchdowns in a 23-second span of the fourth quarter to defeat Alabama State 21-7 Thomas was the leader and signal caller on the #1 Defense in the country. He helped lead his team the their 1st ever SWAC Championship.

2009: Thomas was named All SWAC folling a great Jr. season where he recorded 39 tackles 2TFL 2-5 and was 3rd in the conference with 6INTS for 101yds and 2 TDS. He also had 2 QB Sacks 1FF and 1FR. Thomas was a leader on one of the top Defenses in the country.

2008: Sophomore Curtis Thomas started all 11 games for Texas Southern. He recorded 52 tackles 1 FF 1FR and 5TFL for 34yds. Thomas also recorded 3 sacks for 27yds
