Biography

William F. Smith Jr. was born and raised in Moorestown, New Jersey, where he excelled in both football and wrestling. After attending Chowan College for a year, William joined the United States Army, proudly serving for eight years. His military service included assignments at Fort Bliss, Texas; South Korea; and participation in Operation Desert Shield/Storm, where he saw combat in 1991 as a member of the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment "Brave Rifles."

Following his honorable discharge, William and his family settled in El Paso, Texas, in 1994. In 1996, he began a distinguished career in federal law enforcement with U.S. Customs, now known as Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Over nearly three decades of service, William has advanced through the ranks and contributed meaningfully to national security and public service.

In 1997, William began mentoring and coaching youth athletes, founding Spartans Youth Sports in 1998. Through this initiative, he has positively influenced the lives of many young men, several of whom have gone on to compete at the collegiate level.

William joined Sports Management Worldwide (SMWW) in 2006, where he began representing athletes who would go on to compete in the NFL, CFL, and Arena Football Leagues. He brings a deep commitment to his clients, offering experienced guidance from the early stages of their athletic careers. Known for his integrity, negotiation skills, and passion for mentorship, William consistently places his clients’ best interests at the forefront.

Married for 37 years, William is a devoted husband, father of four, and grandfather of six. As the nephew of NFL Hall of Famer Dave Robinson (Class of ’13), William understands the pursuit of excellence and the discipline it requires. He remains dedicated to helping athletes achieve their goals—both on the field and in financial success.
