Fred Rutasha was born and raised in Burundi, Bujumbura and moved to Canada in 2005 as a teenager. Few months later, he joined the Intamba Sporting Club in Ottawa, a community based soccer team, and have been a member ever since. He was then nominated as Secretary-General in 2012 and then elected as President of the club as of 2018. It is under his leadership that the club successfully entered its first competitive league (OCSL) and won the Division 4 championship to finally gain promotion in Division 2 in 2021. He is also an avid soccer player who joined the Nile Soccer Academy in Burundi as a Youth and played at the Regional level in Ontario, Canada and now playing at the district level (OCSL).


Fred Rutasha holds a BCom. with specialization in Finance from the University of Ottawa, Telfer School of Management. Additionally, he has over 5 years of experience in the Financial Services industry ( Insurance).


Finally, he is a graduate of the Athlete Management course and has successfully been mentored by Dr. Lynn Lashbrook and Joel Corry. The training included: agent regulations & player association legalities, contract negotiation, endorsements, sponsorships, ethics, collective bargaining agreements, draft preparation, marketing and recruiting.
