Derek Gionta

Derek, a Pittsburgh, PA resident, completed the agent advisor course certification in 2009, mentored and facilitated by Dr. Lynn Lashbrook. Specific training included agent regulations and player association legalities, contract negotiation, endorsements, sponsorships, ethics, collective bargaining agreements, draft preparation, marketing and recruiting. Derek is currently a professional boxing promoter and advisor to professional boxers. His sports background covers a wide range of activity beyond his playing days from training, management, media, and tournament organizing. He completed his MBA degree in August of 2012, and now holds various personal training certifications under the NASM umbrella. Derek will begin working as an adjunct Sports Management professor at Lake Erie College in Painesville, OH in January 2024. He plans to focus his attention primarily on football, a sport he grew up playing up through two years in college.
