David Breslin

For over thirty-five years, David Breslin has been a bottom-line, risk-averse advisor to some of the largest family-owned businesses in the United States. These businesses were as diverse as Olympic skier Tom Corcoran's Waterville Valley ski resort and Frank Perdue's agri-business, one of the largest poultry producers and grain processors in the world.

David has negotiated complex business deals including executive level employment agreements, pension and health care plans, commercial lease agreements, and revolving credit and term loan agreements. David has also developed investment strategies and selected investment advisors for many corporate pension, profit-sharing, and savings plans.

Recently, Breslin has affiliated himself with Sports Management Worldwide as an Agent Advisor. Sports Management Worldwide is a pre-eminent, full-service sports agency serving athletes throughout the world. Breslin has also founded Strideaway Advisors LLC, a sports management and marketing firm, with the singular focus of helping professional athletes fully leverage their playing career and develop strategies for a successful second career.

Professional athletes have unique financial needs due to the specific risks inherent in sports. Hockey Hall of Fame legend Tony Esposito once said that the toughest time for an athlete is quitting. “From day one an agent should help a player plan for retirement.” It is critical for the athlete to have a plan and the necessary resources to launch a successful second career. The powerful combination ofBreslin’s significant business advisory and financial management expertise and Sports Management’s extensive multi-sport agency experience will empower the athlete to fully capitalize on his/her playing career and be well positioned for a productive, purposeful life after the last game.

David received a Master in Business Administration degree from Babson College where he graduated with Highest Distinction and earned the O’Brien Award for graduating first in his class of five hundred students. He also received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Boston College. David continued his professional development in numerous programs focusing on investments; asset-liability management; and the business of sports including Sports Management Worldwide’s “NHL GM and Scouting” curriculum mentored by Harry Sinden and Mike Oke, and “Athlete Management” mentored by Joel Corry.
