Chanda Norton |
Born into basketball, Chanda’s interest in the basketball industry was naturally expected. As one of the first girls playing basketball in rec leagues in her hometown growing up, her talents and knowledge progressed faster that anyone could imagine. Despite a successful high school career, a volleyball injury hurt her chances at high level recruitment. Completing a softball and basketball college career, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Social work and an Associates degree in Computer Information Systems, Chanda progressed into a rewarding basketball official career, that lasted 20 years, during this time, she started coaching, and also became a professional basketball skill enhancement trainer. Having coached successful young lady basketball teams, rising to the national level Chanda transitioned over to coaching young men, something she still does today. Coaching young men revealed her true passion and her next path - athlete advocacy, and eventually the creation of Ray‘s Headquarters. An all inclusive firm created to offer student athletes resources from recruiting education, nutrition and fitness, skill enhancement to player evaluations. Giving back to her community, Chanda is very involved in her local government, serving as Chair of Advisory Board for the Department of Recreation and Parks. Advising the county government on all matters regarding state regulations and policies, recreation programming, parks and facilities. |
