2009-2010 : Virginia Lions Semi-Pro Team: Mainly a high powered passing offense, still was able to excel and demand the ball. Played in all 10 games. Averaged 70 yards a game rushing while scoring 5 TDS. He also averaged 31 yards a kick return and 10.5 yards per punt return.
2007-2009 : Spent these two seasons training extremely hard. Put on 20 lbs of muscle and became quicker and faster. Shaving a hair off is 40 time, as well as increasing his vertical since college.
Senior Season: Roland is the all-time leading rusher in CNU football history. He has rushed for 3,149 net yards on 638 career carries for an average of 4.9 yards per carry. Rushed for 149 yards on 21 carries on November 4th vs. Averett and scored two rushing touchdowns. Rushed for 131 yards on 25 carries on October 28th at NC Wesleyan and scored a rushing touchdown as well as a 95-yard kickoff return for a score. The return was the longest in CNU football history. Rushed for 125 yards on 27 carries on October 21st vs. Methodist and scored a touchdown. Rushed for 117 yards on 11 carries on October 14th at Maryville and scored two touchdowns. Rushed for 123 yards on 23 carries on September 30th at Shenandoah and scored both CNU touchdowns. Has scored eleven touchdowns for the Captains over the last six games, including all three CNU scores at Salisbury and both at Shenandoah. Rushed for 207 yards on 40 carries at Salisbury on September 16th, the second-best single game rushing total in CNU's history (Roland also holds the record with 215 yards at Chowan in 2004). Also scored all three TDs, including the game-winner in overtime. Named USA South Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts at Salisbury. Has now rushed for over 100 yards in 16 games in his CNU career, the most ever by a CNU back. Has gone over 100 yards seven times this season. He scored on a 71-yard run at Maryville this year, the second-longest run from scrimmage in program history. Has scored 27 career touchdowns, the most ever in CNU football history. His three touchdowns at Salisbury marked his first career three-touchdown game. His third score was the game-winner in overtime. Became CNU’s first 1,000 yard rusher in 2004 with 1,071 yards on the ground, and was named the USA South’s Offensive Player of the Year. He was an honorable mention all-conference selection in 2005 in the USA South. For his 2006 season Roland achieved USA South First Team All Conference Offense, D3Football All-Region First Team Offense, and rushed for 1,215 yards and scored 16 times.
Junior Season: Emerged as CNU’s workhorse back in 2004, and again regained that form the last seven weeks of 2005... He rushed for 766 yards over the last seven games, and finished with 836 yards and 8 TDs rushing for the year... He went over the 100-yard mark five times this season and has now done so nine times in his career (the most ever by a CNU back)... He scored a total of nine times this year, eight on rushes. He now has 16 career touchdowns...The Manassas native averaged 83.6 yards per game on the ground (and 5.0 yards per carry) this year... He also caught 15 passes for 101 yards this season... He topped the team in all-purpose yards per game with an average of 120.4... He was an honorable mention all conference selection in 2005 in the USA South.
Sophomore Season: Became CNU’s first 1,000-yard rusher with a total of 1,071 yards even though he didn’t start early in the season and played little in the second NCAA Playoff game due to injury...Carried the ball 202 times for an outstanding average of 5.3 yards per carry...Set a school record with 215 yards on 24 rushes against Chowan and scored two TDs in that game...Had a 53-yard dash in that game...Also picked up 184 yards versus Methodist, 156 in the Averett game and 101 against Shenandoah...Also caught at least one pass in every game except the season finale...Had a total of 19 catches for 134 yards...Returned six kickoffs for a total of 138 yards...Named the USA South Offensive Player of the Year.
Freshman Season: Became an important receiver immediately in his freshman year with 15 catches for 207 yards and one touchdown...The TD was a huge one, an 85-yarder from Phillip Jones in the NCAA Playoff win over Muhlenberg...It was the longest reception in school history and was the Captains’ first score in the game...He had a season-high four catches in that game for 99 yards...Also had three versus Averett and two each in the Shenandoah and Ferrum games...Also ran the ball ten times for a total of 27 yards with four carries for 11 yards in the Bridgewater NCAA game and three for 20 yards against Methodist...In addition, he returned three kickoffs versus Ferrum.
