A very complete and all puropse back. Coming off an outstanding season at UAB as he led the team in rushing yards and receptions. Set a UAB record for receptions by a running back. Ranked 3rd in the country in all-purpose yards was named as a candidate for the Doak Walker Award in July 2011, an honor that is presented annually to the nations top running back. Also named as a candidate in August 2011 for the Paul Hornung Award an honor that is presented annually to the most versatile college player in the nation.
2011: Saw limited action missed season opener against Florida with a sports hernia suffered in spring training but did start the rest of games until Oct. 15 where he did suffer a season ending knee injury. Pat Shed's knee is healed and totally rehabed. There was no surgery required just a scope on his knee. Finished his senior season with 60 attempts for 223 yards rushing 1 TD averaging 3.7 yards per carry longest run was for 22 yards. Finished senior season with 23 receptions for 146 yards averaging 6.3 yards per catch longest catch was for 23 yards.
2010: Appeared in all 12 games and started eight of those .... honorable mention All-Conference USA ... led team in rushing with 847 yards for 5.4 yards per attempt average on 157 carries... also paced the team in receptions with 47 and set a Blazer running back record with that number... had 471 receiving yards...combined for seven touchdowns(3 rushing/4 receiving) during season... his rushing total is sixth best in UAB history... ranked fifth in Conference USA in rushing avg at 70.6 per game... also ranked No.3 in NCAA in all purpose yards at 177.1 per contest... led team in kick return yardage with 738 yards on 33 returns (22.4 average)... ran for 176 yards against Souhtern Miss for the sixth highest single-game mark in Blazer history... also ran for 125 yards (20 carries) vs. Memphis... one of two returning running backs in the country (other is BYU's JJ Di Luigi)to rush for more than 800 yards in 2010 and also caugh 45 or more passes... caught season-best nine passes for 84 yards vs. East Carolina... was on receiving end of 24 passes over the final four games of the season... registered long 54-yard run in win over Troy...season high for receiving yards came in season finale at Rice he had 94 yards on seven receptions...also had season-long 54-yard reception vs Memphis...set a UAB record for all purpose yards in a season with 2,125 yards in a victory at Southern Miss...registered a season-long 37-yard kickoff return.
Junior College: Attended East Mississippi Community College...two year starter at running back for head coach Buddy Stephens.... rushed for 1,593 career yards and 21 touchdowns on 294 carries in leading the Lions in rushing both seasons also had 33 career receptions for 438 yards and three scores... eclisped the century mark in rushing yards seven times at EMCC, including a career-high 150 yards (on 15 attempts and 1 TD) at Holmes as a freshman... ran for 821 yards and 10 touchdowns on 167 carries in 12 games as a sophmore...also ranked fifth on the club with 27 catches for 383 yards and two scores as a sophmore... had career bests with seven catches for 146 yards(1 TD), while also rushing for three TDs, in EMCC's 75-71 victory over Mississippi Gulf Coast in the 2009 MACJC state championship game.... rushed for a team-high 772 yards and 11 touchdowns on 127 attempts as a freshman.
