2010 - Earned letterman honors as a senior. Played and scored in all 13 games. Ends career as BYU career leader in PAT conversions, PAT attempts, and scoring. ESPN Academic All-District VIII. All-MWC honorable mention. Phil Steele All-MWC Third Team. 2010 William V. Campbell Trophy and 2010 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Awards candidate.
Kicked two field goals and a PAT vs. Washington. Went 2-for-2 on PATs at Air Force. Had a field goal and a PAT at Florida State. Kicked two field goals and a PAT vs. Nevada. Kicked a field goal and a PAT at Utah State. Had three PATs and a field goal vs. SDSU. Scored BYU's only points on a 27-yard field goal at #4 TCU. Had two PATs and a field goal vs. Wyoming. Converted first 23 field goals of his career inside the 30 before getting blocked on an attempt against the Cowboys. Set BYU all-time record for most PAT attempts vs. UNLV, converting 7-of-7 on the day, adding a season-high 48-yard field goal and a 25-yard field goal. Team flag bearer at Colorado State. Kicked 7-for-7 PATs vs. CSU to earn MWC Special Teams Player of the Week. Against New Mexico, passed brother Matt to become MWC kicking points career leader, converting four PATs and two field goals. Had a season-high 3 field goals at Utah of 43, 37 and 42 yards, adding one PAT. Kicked one field goal and 7-of-7 PATs for the third time on the year in the New Mexico Bowl vs. UTEP, the last of which made him the all-time BYU scoring leader with 334 career points. Seven PATs made and attempted are BYU bowl and New Mexico Bowl records.
2009 - Earned letterman honors as a junior. MWC Scholar-Athlete. Academic All-MWC. Saw action in all 13 games as BYU's primary field goal and PAT kicker. Converted 59-of-61 point-after attempts. Made 10-of-14 field goal attempts. Finished first on the team, scoring 89 points on the season. Became the MWC career PATs made leader with 156 at the conclusion of the 2009 season, surpassing his brother Matt Payne's 150 career PATs made. Converted a career-long 49-yard field goal against Air Force. Set a new MWC record for most PATs made in a game with eight against UNLV. Six PATs in the bowl game against Oregon State set a new BYU bowl record, while the five he converted tied the previous record.
2008 - Earned letterman honors as a sophomore. Saw action in all 13 games as BYU's primary field goal and PAT kicker. Academic All-MWC. Converted 54-of-56 point-after attempts. Made 10-of-14 field goal attempts. Finished third on the team, scoring 84 points on the season. Converted on a season-long 46-yard field goal.
2007 - Earned 2007 Academic All-Mountain West Conference honors. Converted 43-of-45 point-after attempts. Scored a total of 73 points on the season, including 43 PAT's and 10 field goals. Made 10-of-14 field goals, including a season-long of 42 yards against Air Force. Averaged 60.7 yards per kickoff.
2006 - Redshirted the 2006 season.
HIGH SCHOOL – Weber High School - A Salt Lake Tribune first-team All-State selection. Deseret News first-team All-State 5A selection. Two-time Special Teams Player of the Year at Weber HS. Set school record with 11 field goals made as a senior. Connected on field goals of 53 and 54 yards as a senior. Averaged 41.6 yards per punt and never missed an extra-point attempt (39-for-39). Received the Scholar Leader Athlete Award from the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame. Earned academic all-state honors in football, basketball and soccer.
Personal – Speaks Portuguese. Served Church mission in Fortaleza, Brazil.
