Max Ayarza attended Changuinola American Academy. Max was the highest ranked prospect from Boca de Toro, Panama. He captured the eyes of several Major League Baseball scouts, and signed as a free agent with the Houston Astros in July 08, 2008.

Max has a younger Rodrigo “Obed” Ayarza who plays the Texas Rangers organization.  

In July 08, 2008 at the age of 17, Max signed with the Houston Astros. Max plays in the Astros minor league system assisgned to Rookie Gulf Coast League.
