Maurice Mo Williams was born in Pittsburg California on October 17, 1988 to Mr. and Mrs. Michael and Aritha Williams. At the age of 5, Maurice started playing basketball. With the help of has parents and older brother Michael Jr, Maurice excelled on the court. In high school Maurice lettered in two sports basketball and baseball. Maurice had offers to multiple colleges coming out of high school to play basketball. Maurice decided to play basketball at Porterville Junior College where he started 39 games out of 41. After 2008-2009 season was cut short by injury. Maurice rebounds quickly in 2009-2010 were he attended Pacific Union College while shooting 41% from behind the 3 point line and 67% from 2. Maurice is an outstanding dribbler and a great passer. He is also super quick on three releases. The first thing you see is that he is very small, but he is a great player. Maurice plays beyond his years with his ability to see the floor and think the game, while his speed and quickness are second to none. Maurice pushes the ball up the floor and makes plays. Maurice can play in any style of basketball, from up tempo to half court. Maurice possesses the ability to penetrate against any level of competition with an uncanny ability to either score or create scoring opportunities for others. Maurice is a proven winner who runs the offense and sees the entire floor with “coach’s eyes Maurice always maintained an extremely high assist to turnover ratio. Playing at a high level at Pacific Union College Division II competition, Maurice led his team in playing time in 2 of his 3 years as a starter. Maurice is a tireless worker who is dedicated to the game and improving himself year in and year out at any level. Maurice is to play for the Georgia Gwizzlies in the fall.
