Marquis has the size speed combo at 6'3 207lbs to go up and grab the ball from defenders. He uses his body well when keeping defenders off of him. He has great hands and has shown the ability to run very good routes. Marquis flashes the big play ability and will be an asset to any team that is ready to sign this great talent.

09/15/09 - KEEP AN EYE ON: WR Marquis Avery - The junior college transfer has given the Spartans a second dynamic option in the pass game. He had seven catches for 85 yards and a clutch 1-yard touchdown against Utah.
 
 
College Career: Marquis has excelled at every level of football. In his 3 years in college he recorded 130 receptions for 1673 yds and 20 TDs. He played is 29 games in his college career and made 20 trips to the end zone.
 
SAN JOSE STATE 2009: Marquis Avery JUCO transfer played and started 9 games for San Jose State had 42 receptions for 472 yards and led the team with 6 receiving TDS. He showed that his 6'3 frame could be a great threat in the red zone. He also showed big play ability by having 7 receptions over 35 yards 3 of those TDS of 38, 46 and 80 yards.

COMMUNITY COLLEGE: 60 receptions for 766 yards and seven touchdowns for Fullerton College (Coach Gene Murphy) in 2007...First-team All-Mission Conference pick as a sophomore...Caught 28 passes for 435 yards and seven touchdowns as a freshman in 2006.

HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered in football (Coach Tim O’Hara) and basketball at Savanna High in Anaheim, Calif....Three-time, first-team all-league pick in football.
