San Jose State University claimed the inaugural New Mexico Bowl with a 20-12 victory over the University of New Mexico on Saturday, December 23.

2005: Started all 11 games at left guard...was a key contributor to San Jose State’s quarterback sack count decreasing from 22 in 2004 to 14 in 2005 and running game output increasing to 200 yards per game at the end of the season. 2004: Joined the team for spring practice as a left tackle hopeful...moved to left guard and red shirted the season.

FOOTHILL COLLEGE: Honorable mention all-conference selection in 2003...also named to JC Football Network “All-USA Iron Man Team.”

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduate of Gresham (Ore.) High School...lettered in football (Coach Jack Flitcraft) and track and field.

MARCEL: Majoring in sociology...celebrated his 23rd birthday in 2006 prior to the start of fall practice.
