Julio was a 13th round Los Angeles Dodger selection of the 2002 first-year player draft. He has transitioned into a reliable professional reliever after being primarily utilized as a starter while an amateur. To date Julio is averaging slightly over a strikeout per inning while maintaining a strikeout to walk ratio of two-and-a-half to one. These traits are noticeable within an organization with a tradition of producing great pitchers. Julio dominated the competition in his first season and earned a promotion to A-ball.
