Outlook: Confident player who is a great leader on the offensive side of the ball...has an accurate arm and is a very intelligent player...knows the game extremely well...likes to sit in the pocket and throw the ball but can scramble and be accurate...provided great leadership and poise to this year’s offense. He also has excellent escape ability and tucks the football away and run for good yardage when necessary!
Drew has Captained the football team 4 years and demonstrated exceptional leadership skills! Drew was recently named "MVP"of the 2010 Squad this is the 3rd time he has been recognized as the MVP! Drew is also the recipient of the "2011 Chris Farris Award" which is presented to the Senior Athlete that demonstrates Scholar in the Classroom and High Achievement in sports.

Drew Newhart Received the 'Student Athlete of the Year Award' at Missouri Western Sate University!
Training Activity Winter/Spring 2011-Drew is currently preparing for Pro Football with an evaluation by Optimum Scouting + honing his Quarterback skills; training with Coach Skip Stitzell of 'Quarterbacks Edge' and further the development of his mental and physical capacity with Coach Hammer of 'Hammer Bodies Custom Fitness'. Drew will also participate in 'Pro Day' at the 'Pro Day' at Missouri Western on 3/28/11 and the 'Elite' Pro Football Combine on 3/12/11 in Naperville, Illinois. The Calgary Stampede Open Tryout in April 2011. Omaha night Hawks of the UFL in April 2011!

Recent Activity: Spring of 2011
- Drew Newhart NFL Draft position among quarterbacks has improved significantly over the past two months march & April. He has moved up over 30 positions! He will continue to make these dramatic advancements as he continues to get exposure to the scouts!
- Drew passed the ball exceptionally at the MIAA Pro day in the presence of 11 NFL Scouts. He also passed the ball very well at the CFL, Calgary Stampede Tryout and the UFL Omaha Night Hawks Tryout!

2010 season: Honorable Mention All-MIAA...Third Team Academic All-District 7 selection...set the school record for most yard in a game with 412 in the Griffon victory against Truman State...helped the Griffons get ranked the highest ever in school history at 8th in both the AFCA and D2Football.com polls...guided the Griffons to its second ever NCAA Division II Playoff appearance...connected on 222-of-361 passes for 2,799 yards and 25 touchdowns...averaged 233.2 yards per game with a pass efficiency of 144.5. rushed for 3 touchdowns and punted three times for an average of 28.3 yards per kick...led the Griffons to a 4-0 start.
2009 season: throwing for 3,034 yards and 31 touchdowns...had a 159.58 passing efficiency completing 217-of-346 passes a completion of 62.7%...averaged 252.8 passing yards per contest...threw for a career-high 373 yards and three touchdowns on September 5, 2009 against Mesa State College...broke a school record for longest touchdown pass in school history connecting for a 98-yard pitch and catch. Threw for a career and tied school record with five touchdown passes against Northern State University (S.D.) on August 27, 2009...MIAA Player of the Week on August 31, 2009...Honorable Mention All-MIAA selection...nominated for 2009 Harlan Hill Award.
2008 season: threw for 2,769 yards completing 225 passes in 376 attempts.. for 18 touchdowns completing 59.8 percent of his passes and having a 127.92 efficiency...was the MIAA Offensive Player of the Week on September 1, 2008 after completing 19-of-22 passes for 304 yards and three touchdown in a 38-27 victory over Northern State (S.D.).
2007 season: MIAA-Freshman Player of the Year...Second Team All-MIAA selection...MIAA Player of the Week on Oct. 22, 2007...played in all 12 games with 11 starts...completed 153-of-265 pass attempts for 2,089 yards...threw for 21 touchdowns with a long of 94 yards against Fort Hays State University...averaged 174.1 passing yards per game...second in the MIAA in pass efficiency with a 142.6 efficiency...completed 57.7% of his passes rushed for two touchdowns.
