Dexter Ford was born in Brooklyn New York and raised in Columbus Ohio. Dexter started playing soccer at the age of 4 and at the tender age of 6 pickup football and didn’t look back. Dexter lettered in 3 sports in high school Football, Basketball, and Baseball. Dexter received multiple offers in high school to attend private schools, but he decided to play football at Stephenson High in Georgia. Dexter had multiple scholarship offers coming out of high school where he chose to take his talents to Marshall University to play Football. Dexter was redshirted his first year. After his hard work over the summer Dexter saw the field often, mainly on special teams as a Günter and at safety. Dexter had one of his best games at Marshall where he recorded 6 solo tackles, a block extras point and 2 pass break ups. After a 2 year snit with Marshall University; Dexter than transferred to Texas Southern University where he saw the field immediately. While helping TSU improve to 3 wins his first year, the previous year before Dexter’s arrival TSU was winless. Dexter second year prove his leadership by helping TSU win 7 games and 3 losses. Dexter final year was cut short by injury but now fully recovered Dexter is ready to prove he can take the next step in his career. When given the chance Dexter will prove he can play at any level. The profile you see above are number Dexter put up this year at the IDA Assessing Speed and Power but sense than Dexter numbers has improved. Dexter 40 yard dash is now at a 4.57. Dexter has improved in every aspect of his game and will show any team that he’s ready when given the opportunity. Dexter is a great teammate and a natural leader. Dexter first year at TSU was voted captain that speaks of his character and the type of player you’re getting. Dexter can and will be a great asset to any team at safety or special teams.
