De'Vion is a proven veteran who is a dependable, productive and well-rounded tailback. De'Vion was MU's leading returning rusher from 2010, and after a spirited battle in the spring, he started fall 2011 camp No. 2 on the depth chart. He had a solid spring camp, and he closed it out by leading all rushers in the Black & Gold Spring Game with 57 yards on the ground (on 5 carries).
- Given the opportunity in a system that allowed him to carry the ball more would no doubt have resulted in a +1000 yard season and additional scores!
Note: De'Vion is a explosive running back that is always subject to breaking a long run!
2011 SEASON: De'Vion aquired an ankle injury during the second game of the season and relinguished the runningback duties to another back that had an honorable season during De'Vion's absence, subsequently limiting De'Vion's carries after he returned to form. Despite this circumstance he managed to maintain a high level of yards per carry at 5.8 yrds/carry and posted a solid performance of 10 carries for 62 yards in the Independence Bowl Championship victory! Additionally, De'Vion is an outstanding student who played the 2011 season as a graduate student, after he earned his undergraduate degree in December of 2010.
