Two-year shooting guard/small forward started 52 games in his career,. A unknown prospect from the high school graduating class of 2002. Finished his career with 115 assist Started the final 20 games at point guard in his junior year (2008-2009) and played at least 20 minutes in 22 games. He averaged 22.3 minutes and 8.8 points in the final 14 games and averaged 6.6 points in the 10 games against ranked opponents. Had season-high 20 points, including 5-of-6 from the free throw line, in 34 minutes in season finale on March 12th. Posted season-high seven assists on Feb. 28 and played a season-high 35 minutes and had a season high eight rebounds and added 10 on Feb. 20.was his first start. Family has a lot of athletic ties as his uncle, Alexander Marks of Abrams High, uncle Timothy Marks Hueytown High Native,(Brother) Christian Jones Senior at Midfield High School in Midfield, AL and Darius Jones. He is the son of David E. Jones & Tracie R. Jones

Ball Skills


    Lack of physical conditioning deters his Ball Handling, especially after multiple game sets. Needs to work on foot speed with and without the Ball.  Once recognizing the open man does release quickly.  Recognizes the open man coming off screens and passes effectively.
Offense
    Consistent mid range shooter.  Needs to work on foot speed and quickness off the dribble.
Rebounding

    Uses his size effectively once obtaining rebounding positioning.  Good outlet passes but needs to be quicker in transition.
Defense    Maintains ball pressure and stays in front of his man.  Needs to respond quicker on defensive rotations.
Game Knowledge
    Appears to know the game but conditioning deters his execution.
Strengths
    Size, mid range jump shot, initiates the fast break with effective outlet pass
Opportunities for Improvement    Physical conditioning and stamina, increase his offensive presence, defensive rotations
