Jed McHaffie

Bio

                My name is Jedidiah McHaffie, aka “Jedd”.  I am 28 years old and I love everything to do with sports.  I was born in Fairbanks, Alaska but call Eugene, Oregon my home.  I was a Boy Scout and Sea Scout while growing up starting at the age of 10 through 18.  The sports that I have competed in are Baseball, Basketball, Football, and Ice Hockey.  I graduated from Willamette High school, the same school as Quinton Mikell, a defensive back currently in the NFL.

 After graduating high school I worked as an auto mechanic for Lithia Dodge of Eugene until deciding to join the United States Air Force in June of 2000.  I joined as a C17 Crew Chief and was stationed at Charleston AFB in South Carolina.  I have been deployed all over the United States, including a 45 day presidential support mission to Andrews AFB in Washington D.C. during the Bush vs Kerry campaign in 2004.  During this trip I had the oppritunity to attend my first NHL game between the Washington Capitals and the New York Rangers.  I also deployed to Baghdad, Iraq in 2003 to participate in Operation Iraqi Freedom.  While deployed I received many medals and accommodations for my efforts including “Outstanding Unit with a V for valor” and an “Air Force Expeditionary Service Medal” with a gold border signifying combat operations, Air Force “Good Conduct” medal, and Small Arms Expert Marksman are just a few. 

In 2005 I was honorably discharged from the Air Force and moved back to Oregon.  I got a job as a Marine Engine Mechanic at Mel’s Marine in Eugene.  During that time I got married to my wife, Tonya who is a nurse at McKenzie Willamette Hospital. In 2007 we had a boy together that we named Blake.  I worked at the marina for 3 years until I was laid off after the economic downturn.  I quickly got a job as a power sports mechanic at Brashers Northwest Auto Auction.  While working there I got the chance to meet Oregon defensive tackle, Brandon Bair, as he was an intern in the sales office.

 Looking for a way to take my love for sports and combine that into a job, I decided to start my own sports agency.  While taking the steps to start my business, I enrolled in the Athlete Management Coarse offered by Dr. Lynn Lachbrook at Sports Management Worldwide.  They have given me to resources and guidance to become an exceptional businessman in the sporting industry and I look forward to doing everything in my power to be a mediator and mentor to any clients on my team.
